PTSD is an emotionally painful condition that can cause extreme distress among those who suffer from PTSD, as well as those within the social circle of a person attained with PTSD. It is caused by traumatic experiences, some of which can be acute or developmental. Some may have triggers that cause anxious reactions, whereas some may be anxious most of the time.
PTSD may sometimes require legal intervention. Often, PTSD leads to alcohol and drug use, violent and erratic behaviour, and social isolation. PTSD is a defence mechanism against perceived threats that triggers a fight-or-flight reaction. Although this may be useful in wartime to be so attuned to recognize threats, it is hurtful to those around you who have no intention to hurt you.
Other times, help can be sought independently. Those who suffer from PTSD recognize the hurt that they cause and this makes them feel very guilty. In an effort to stop hurting those they love as well as themselves they seek therapy. To relieve your loved ones of your PTSD, you can call us at 1-855-382-2482.
